Applied for Series 8 of BBC Apprentice

Used this picture on my application form. Not sure if it is good, a tad overexposed!

After much support on Twitter and Facebook I have applied to appear on series 8 of BBC Apprentice. At this stage I have mixed feelings about my application. First cause of concern is the impact the show could have on my career if I were to appear on the show (if I were not to win). Secondly I have no idea for what the producers look for in a candidate.

Whilst I can boast about my efforts at Microsoft in the application (which will provide weight), the rest is University related and probably not too unique to others around the country. For the moment though I live in belief that my application has probably disappeared into a pile of thousands.

Whether the filming dates would work around my final year of University is a mystery but appearing on the show would be incredible. Mainly as I believe I could do a better job than most candidates who appear on the show.

Time will tell. I’ll let you all know if I hear anything back from the BBC.

Have you got a email saying to go to auditions yet?

        • Anonymous

You know what, I did get an email and after much thought I decided to turn it down. Unfortunately the filming dates overlapped 1/4 of my final year of University and I don’t want to risk any graduate applications. Will probably apply next year when more prepared.

I may not have made it onto the show anyway. Disappointed but my education comes first. :-)

It helps if you can ramp up the megalomania, a dash of arrogance, and liberal sprinklings of cluelessness. It makes good viewing .. and I’d advise you to rewatch all the episodes so far to spot the mistakes (so as to not repeat them) … preparation, organisation, project/people management skills … these are the things that most Apprentice candidates don’t display :)

Yup. Handling the media is tricky. They demand certain vices and in return shower you with exposure. I prefer not to play along to their rules which may make me unsuitable for the programme. I would love the investment :)

I would say good luck, but you won’t need luck for this mate.

Thanks for the support and lack of luck! :P

I’d be absolutely amazed if you did any better than anybody on the show. Since you seem rather talentless.

Judging by that comment, have you thought about applying? You seem like that perfect
candidate; apply and start judging everyone on the show for our entertainment value even if they are better candidates than you – such as Mike!

    Where did you apply?
