This will be the next Big Thing
Take my word for it, this website will be big. The news of its conception and creation should be covered on TechCrunch, Mashable and possibly even BoingBoing. theListBook will be the internet’s best source of useful lists and let’s face it, everybody likes a good list.
In the words of the website’s founder, theListBook is “all about collaborative lists and social networking. Lists on every...
Formspring.me
What would evil on the internet be best incarnated as? Before you click off this article just know that this is a valid question. Over the last few days I have started using a brand new internet service called Formspring.me. I can only conclude that it is the most evil social media creation I have ever set eyes upon.
Just using the service feels somewhat underhand, like I have been caught deep within...
Advertising Online is Dead
It is in my strictest, sternest and possibly controversial view that advertising online is dead.
Once upon a time it did flourish and at the same time the internet was known as a commercial trap for users. I remember in the early 1990s it was almost impossible to visit a website without a pop-up advert greeting you. Sometimes you would be unfortunate enough to stumble upon a hoard of multi-pop-up adverts...
Journalism in the 21st Century
In light of the Guardian news iPhone application it seems appropriate for me now to discuss my ideas with how Journalism is changing in the 21st Century. Perhaps more appropriately how we will see journalism change as we reach the end of a decade.
As John Stuart wrote in the second chapter of his essay ‘On Liberty’ it is necessary for journalists to have the right of free speech as long as there...
Wave Goodbye to Email
Originally published in issue 3, vol 10 of Space Newspaper. The University of Gloucestershire’s student newspaper.
It is understandable that when AC/DC stand on stage crowds will emphatically cheer enthusiastically. Not surprising at all. However, I do cringe with an expression that only a cat’s arse can imitate when Google announce a new product to a crowd of developers who respond with more...

Google is offering over a Million eBooks for Download
Back in 2006 publishers and authors gathered together to file a class action lawsuit against Google Books. It is easy to see why, digital downloads are threatening the music industry and books could be perceived to becoming under the same threat. Just as Google revolutionised the way we navigate the internet, they are now assisting the future of books.
Today the Twitter stream is ablaze as Mashable...

Future of Newspapers: eReaders?
It would be an understatement to say we are living in changing times, revolution has called and Rubert Murdoch blew the final whistle. Murdoch has said that there is a plan to release a News Corp e reader which will be in direct completion to Amazon’s Kindle. The Kindle e reader allows books, magazines and newspapers to be wirelessly downloaded directly to the device.
Downloading of newspapers,...
Facebook Confusion
Facebook has been changing in a profound way. The introduction of public usernames, friend limits have been raised, a change in privacy options, the drop in developer’s support and a calm down from user registrations. Just what is happening to Facebook? Is Facebook trying to change how users use their social networking services to gain more popularity? The ramble continues… in a dangerous...

Ladies and gentlemen. As always thank you for downloading and listening to this podcast and indeed both past episodes as well. This episode comes with a bit of a twist. To honour the focus we are to make to content, free content, on the internet this podcast will be avaliable in the .ogg vorbis file format as well as the conventional .mp3 format. For those of you who are listening, rather than reading...
Google Wave
I have considered writing this blog post for the past couple of days but sanity stopped me. Unfortunately, I can no longer contain my excitement. Google Wave is going to be awesome! However, this article is merely a product of speculation. Currently Google Wave is only open to a small number of developers but it is expected to be released later this year.
Why on Earth is Google Wave relevant for this...
