Commuting Comrades: Why Commuting is Tedious
If I had to pick out one aspect of working in London which causes shivers to roll down my spine then it would be commuting. What is even worse is when in casual conversation about work somebody replies, ‘Ah, so you are a commuter now’. Commuting is tedious and this response implies a monotonous way of life.
Each morning I arrive at the train station at exactly the same time, to catch the same scheduled...
Runner-Up CIPR Student Rep of the Year
Found out a couple of days ago that I have been made runner-up CIPR Student Rep of the Year. All my thanks go to those who made my role such a pleasure to carry out. Much of what I did was heavily weighted upon those students who offered me their time and talent, the generosity of the University and CIPR West of England. Just goes to show that the education I have received from the University of...
Second Year of University: Accomplished!
Goodness… what a year it has been. Of course I connote year in the most student way possible which equates to roughly 8 months. Let’s be cheap about this – a University year for some does average out to about 2 weeks of solid work. Oh, who seriously believes that drivel? The majority of people I know at University work very hard, probably harder than some adults in the so-called “real world”.
For...
List of PR Student Blogs
A little while ago I took the time to collate a list of all the PR student blogs I could find. This is the result. The Americans are putting us British to shame! If you have any other blogs to recommend then please leave them in the comments.

Big Blue Chip
Those of you who follow my Twitter feed will know that over the last couple of weeks I have mentioned interviews and inevitably tweeted a string of grumbles that comes from travelling into a busy city, London.
One of the companies I had an interview with was Microsoft. At 7:15pm last Wednesday I got an unexpected call from a lady at Microsoft informing me that I had managed to get the job.
I have to...
A Placement Pondering
I really don’t think University properly prepares you for the working world. The “real world” as people who wear blue collared shirts like to explain is tough. No matter how confident I am with my own skills and abilities there are always discussions which seem to just dishearten. It is quite difficult to listen to somebody who explains that only their world is the real one, the tricky one and...
CIPR Student Representative
Last week I was absolutely delighted when my class voted for me to become CIPR Student Representative for the University of Gloucestershire.
Despite my recent disagreements with the University over their clearly rushed decision concerning the University buses, I like the University. The University of Gloucestershire was my first choice out of the five Universities I was required to write down on my...
First Year Completed
I have now finished first year of University! Although what an inconsiderate amount of time it has been since this blog was last updated. Unfortunately this may become habit since University work was more than I first expected.
So much has happened since I last wrote a blog upon this website and indeed throughout my whole first year of university. Not that years of university are actual years, closer...
